During World War II, Hitler's "Final Solution" was carried out at Nazi death camps. The most notorious camp of all was Auschwitz. It is estimated that at least 1.5 million innocent people were killed there. Does primary evidence exist to prove that people were gassed at Auschwitz? How many people could the SS process in any given day? How do we know for sure that survivors' stories are true? Did the Allies know what was going on at Auschwitz before the war ended? When the Red Army finally liberated Auschwitz, what did they find?
The answers to these questions are troubling. You can find out for yourself as you take virtual trips to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum in Poland and the official American archives. Examine the aerial reconnaissance photos the CIA calls "unique in the world." Look at the Nazi blueprints for gas chambers and crematoria. After you examine the evidence, you will have little doubt that Auschwitz was, indeed, a place of horrors. Brought to you by Click2History, a channel of AwesomeStories.com.
